Zonta Club Meeting

When: 2009

In a YouTube interview about her work in Darfur, local Doctors Without Borders volunteer Janet Kerr says, "In the midst of all of the trauma and all of the horror that I heard about, there were some things that really kind of inspired me." She goes on to tell the story of a young man who survived an attack on his village only to find himself literally paralyzed with fear. Counselors at the mental-health center where Kerr worked, helped him deal with his trauma and walk again. Today at 5:30 p.m., Kerr will talk about her experiences and the people she met in Darfur at a free Zonta Club of the Pikes Peak Region meeting at Crowne Plaza Hotel (2886 S. Circle Drive, 264-9087). RSVP requested. — Jill Thomas
