World Dance Festival

When: Fri., Aug. 26, 8:30-10:30 p.m. 2016

Dance is a language found on every continent, a seemingly intrinsic urge within all human beings to use the body to express one's self to music. We use this language to transcend mere spoken words to find common ground with one another. As acclaimed choreographer and dancer Agnes de Mille once said, "The truest expression of a people is in its dance and in its music. Bodies never lie." Tonight, you can discover the soul of cultures worldwide expressed through the beauty of dance at the World Dance Festival. This showcase features performances from India, Brazil, America and beyond, each with traditional costumes and music, each showing you the truth of their respective cultures through movement, no words required. 8-10 p.m., Colorado Springs City Auditorium, 221 E. Kiowa St., $10-$15,, — Bridgett Harris

Price: $10-$15
