Where'd the music go?

Back in the day, you could catch Big Brother & the Holding Company, The Doors and the James Cotton Blues Band on the same bill at The Fillmore for $3.50. Now the free poster you would've gotten that night sells for $425 on eBay.

    Would you like"the life of a rock star? Oh yeah. You'd tour around all over, have a ton of money and fame.

I think I saw God - that night. -  - Are ticket prices getting out of hand? - Ridiculous. A ticket to see The Stones these days - goes for $300 to $400. -  - Who played at your last live concert? ZZ Top at - Red Rocks a year or so ago. -  - Describe the local music scene. Very weak. The - city does little to support the arts. There's a few fun local - bands, like Phat Daddy, who play the local venues over - and over. Susan Rissman and her jazz group are terrific. - Be sure to catch her. -  - How'd you like the rock-star life? As they say, - lots of money, and the women are for free. But I'm too - old for that now. I rarely stay out past 9:30.

    Describe the local music scene. Very weak. The city does little to support the arts. There's a few fun local bands, like Phat Daddy, who play the local venues over and over. Susan Rissman and her jazz group are terrific. Be sure to catch her.

We - were right up against the stage, and she was passing her - Jack Daniels around. -  - Have ticket prices gotten too expensive? - Tickets to see Lyle Lovett at the Pikes Peak Center - recently were $80. I went, but I don't go to many - concerts anymore for that very reason. -  - Is there a viable local music scene? I'm too old - to know the answer to that. -  - Who do you wish would come here to perform? - If Johnny Cash were still around, I'd pick him. - Jimmy Buffett would be good. -  - Would you get off on living"the rock-star life? - Never. It's too dangerous and too grueling. And - those people aren't the happiest in the world.
