What's your position on the war? I regret that we are at war. I'm not sure that it was a good decision, but I do support the troops, especially since my son is a commander in the Navy and he was in Iraq at the beginning of the war.
Have the American people tuned out the war? I don't think so. I think the American people are interested in the war, especially when so many of our sons and daughters are over there.
Is Bush a hero or a villain? Neither. I think that he means well and that he felt that he's doing the right thing.
What's your position on the war? I'm totally against it, opposed to it, because people are dying and being killed every day.
Are we hearing less about the war we were at the beginning? I believe the government is not telling the people everything.
When and how do you think the situation will be resolved? I think it's going to go on for a very long time, a number of years, maybe even another decade. It seems like progress is being made at a very slow rate. Especially with what just happened over in London, England; I think that kind of proves that.
What's your position on the war? I think all war is just a waste of life, and if men get together and talk to each other, maybe they can work out the problem before it starts. But terrorists, I can't give you no answer for that; they are just the devil.
When and how do you think the situation will be resolved? I don't think it will be resolved, but it's going to die down and everyone is going to forget about it, just like the Vietnam War.
Have the American people tuned out the war? It's kind of like anything where people get shocked about something, whatever it is, and then time wears it down. Time wears down your strong opinions about it.
How have your opinions of the war shifted since the beginning? When I heard about it, I was pissed. I was really upset that we were going to war because it didn't seem like the right step ... I'm not saying we haven't screwed up over there, but in a lot of ways I'm happy that we've been over there, not only for getting Saddam out of power, but really encouraging a democratic and peaceful atmosphere in the Middle East. Or at least we have our foot in the door, right? Because I do think our ideology as a culture is superior.
