Visiting Film Series: Best of Enemies

When: Mon., Oct. 26, 6:30-10 p.m. 2015

It was back in 1968, during a series of heated television debates, that William F. Buckley Jr. and Gore Vidal nearly came to blows over issues that were tearing the country apart at the time, most notably our involvement in the ultimately futile Vietnam War. Given America's current role in various Middle Eastern conflicts, Robert Gordon's Best of Enemies, an artful 2015 documentary about the two ideologically opposed pundits, is both fascinating and all-too-relevant. Gordon, who's also a celebrated writer, historian and musicologist, will be on hand for this evening's 6:30 screening and discussion at the Cornerstone Arts Center (825 N. Cascade Ave., 389-6614). The event is free and open to the public. For more information, go to — Bill Forman
