Verbal Vaudeville

When: Dec. 11-13, 8 p.m. 2014

From the mind of local spoken-word artist, playwright and Colorado College professor Idris Goodwin comes Verbal Vaudeville. Envisioned as "a concert of words" and "a recitation of the real" by Goodwin — known for such works as the play How We Got On; a collection of essays on hip-hop and race, These Are the Breaks; and his most recent solo rap album, Blackademic — VV will deliver "a dynamic evening of performance poetry and short plays" written by Goodwin as well as CC students, who will also perform. Shows, which started Thursday, happen at 3 and 8 p.m. today at CC's Cornerstone Arts Center (825 N. Nevada Ave., Tickets are $5 and available at the Worner Campus Center desk. — Edie Adelstein
