Andre and Andrew Oh have always been involved with sushi. Their father, Chang Oh, owned AI Sushi & Grill on Cinema Point, and their uncle, Min Choi, is a sushi chef at Nara Sushi on Colorado Avenue at 31st Street. Andre says he and Andrew have helped behind the scenes since they were kids.

But on July 18, the Oh brothers opened their own spot: Uri Sushi & Grill.

“My brother and I had been thinking about opening a restaurant,” says Andre. “We knew the landlord here, and they had a vacant spot, so we thought ‘why not?’”

So far, Andre says customers have been surprised — the exterior’s humble, but they’ve refined the dining room.

“We get deliveries from our suppliers twice a week, so I can 100 percent say we have some of the freshest fish in town,” Andre says. He adds that the spot offers bento lunch deals, free sake bombs after 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and a 10 percent discount for first responders as well as veterans.
