UpaDowna Pedal Party

When: Wednesdays, 6 p.m. Continues through Aug. 31 2016

With all the exciting bicycle news that's been buzzing in the Springs, you may be wondering how you can get your own two wheels in on the action. Well, the crew at UpaDowna has just the answer — the summer Pedal Party. Held every Wednesday through Labor Day, the ride begins at McCabe's Tavern and meanders about downtown at an easy "no drop" pace, taking you on a 5- to 7-mile community excursion that welcomes bikes of every style and riders of all ages and experience levels. A city favorite that is now in its sixth year, the ride promises cool prizes to be won (like a fabulous New Belgium cruiser), friends to be made, and joy to be shared all summer long. Feeling left out because you don't have a bike of your own? Don't fret! There are free rentals available so you too can be a pedal party-goer. 6 p.m., 520 S. Tejon St., free, facebook.com/upadownapedalparty. — Bridgett Harris
