"Unheard Voices of the Colorado River Basin: Bringing Mexico and Native American Tribes to the Table”

When: Mon., Jan. 30, 7 p.m. 2012

Any river basin that snakes 1,400 miles through seven states is a pretty big deal. It's even more so when it shares our state's name. From 7 to 9 tonight, Colorado College's Gates Common Room (1025 N. Cascade Ave., coloradocollege.edu) will be hosting another portion of its State of the Rockies 2011-2012 Speakers Series. With "Unheard Voices of the Colorado River Basin: Bringing Mexico and Native American Tribes to the Table," the series will carry on its exploration of issues in the river basin, and touch on how water rights affect both Mexico and our local native tribes. The lecture is free, so dedicate the evening to the dirt beneath your feet. — Kelsey Smith
