What's happening to marriage? People need to find the right person, not just jump in and then bail out if it goes bad.
Is same-sex marriage a moral outrage or a civil right? I'm really against it due to my religious beliefs. There's a reason why there's two sexes.
Should same-sex marriage be an issue in the presidential election? I'd put it midline-to-bottom in importance.
What is marriage? A merger between a woman and a man with checks and balances that balance out the books.
What is love? Something felt between two individuals. Give and take. Understanding. Nurturing each other's needs.

Why are marriage rates declining? Marriage was a core institution back in the 13th century when women were chattel and needed to be owned. An increasingly small, largely fundamentalist, percentage of society thinks of it that way.
What is marriage? That's the real question. Is it a religious concept or a legal entity? If one population sector has a civil right, should it be available to everyone? As far as marriage being a religious concept, I could care less what the Catholics do. The Pope outlawing marriage between gays is a religious issue.
Does same-sex marriage threaten traditional marriage? How does my marriage to Sally -- hypothetically speaking -- threaten your marriage to Flannery? Does Britney Spears getting married for two days in Vegas threaten the 30-year marriage of my next-door neighbors?
Should same-sex marriage be an issue in the upcoming presidential race? It's a bid by Bush's political advisers to gain 15 percent of the population's vote. The war, the economy, the intelligence failures are far bigger issues.
What is love? When I figure that out, maybe I'll get happily married.

What's with the declining marriage rate? A lot of it is careers -- especially more women pursuing careers -- and the need for more education. I'm 34, and only one of my college friends is married.
Does same-sex marriage erode the sanctity of traditional marriage? It only strengthens the concept that people get married because they really and truly want to be together.
Should this be an issue in the presidential race? It's a red herring at a time when we are radically altering international law by invading other countries and when the deficit is rising exponentially.
What is marriage? A commitment to grow imperfectly together. I think with pride of my own parents, who have been married many, many years. They worked at it. They communicate. It's hard. You have to change.
What is love? The lamp of the soul, shared between two people.
