Line in the sand

Last week, Donald Trump drew a line in the sand. I stand on the opposite side of the line.

Trump is not the United States and he is not us. It is diversity of humanity that makes up mankind. When I fly our flag on Presidents' Day, it will be for the past presidents worthy of being our president.

— David Johnson, Colorado Springs

A national disgrace

I voted in my first national election in 1960, and have continued to do so throughout the years, including the last election. I've been dismayed by the positions and policies of some of those who have held the position of president, but never ashamed. Unfortunately, I am ashamed now. The present occupant of the White House should resign this position, as he does not have the civility nor qualifications to lead this great nation into an uncertain future.

— Bob Armintor, Colorado Springs
