The Wearable Art Night

When: Fri., Aug. 29, 5-8 p.m. 2014

Yves Saint Laurent merged fine art and fashion in the most wearable ways — witness the Mondrian dress — but that's more or less ready-to-wear compared to the haute couture creations of the late Alexander McQueen. On the other end of the spectrum is clothing made from paper sculpture, recycled or organic materials, as you will see tonight at Cottonwood Center for the Arts' (427 E. Colorado Ave., inaugural Wearable Art Night. Based on the success of its Body Art nights, Cottonwood has asked locals to access their inner designers, whom you can "meet" for a $3 donation between 5 and 8. — Edie Adelstein

Price: $3 donation
