In a world full of ice cream options, 6-month-old The Ice Cream Lab
has managed to scoop out its own unique concept. Manager William Yeager says he even patented his design for a liquid nitrogen dispenser system in tandem with owner Anastasia Sziklas’ mixing bowl approach to made-in-the-moment “nitro creams.” The team also hand-makes rolled ice creams in front of guests, another process that takes several minutes per order (think: slow food of the sweets world). Get Dragon’s Breath, a nitro-charged breakfast cereal kibble, essentially, to exhale a fun vapor cloud. Or pick a tiny but rich tub of one of the six “Edoughble cookie dough” flavors, like Cookies n’ Dream. I resist the 20-plus rolled ice creams in a taco-shaped waffle cone for a recommended Strawberry Dream nitro cream cup, clean with natural-tasting berry flavor, syrup- and whipped cream-capped and served with a syringe of chocolate sauce. All the extra show and gadgetry adds to this lab’s charm.
