The Hooten Hallers, Teaadora, Cloacas

When: Wed., Aug. 1, 9 p.m. 2012

When the Hooten Hallers were last through the Triple Nickel Tavern (26 S. Wahsatch Ave., 555nickel.com) in December, tickets were $2. At tonight's 9 o'clock show, also featuring Teaadora and the Cloacas, they're $5. If that doesn't show an atmospheric rise and burgeoning success, this guy doesn't know what does. After all, we're talking about a duo that Indy writer Chris Parker describes as "crackl[ing] like Jiffy Pop, producing a swampy garage-blues stomp." There's some country twang to the boys as well, plus a four-piece drum kit played from a standing position. You best see 'em now; next time it might cost you $8. — Matthew Schniper
