"The Future of Water"

When: Mon., Feb. 29, 7 p.m. 2016

Climate change is complicated, which is possibly why so many elected officials "elect" to ignore it. If you want to do better and learn more, it's not a bad idea to hear it from a certified genius. Peter Gleick, whom the BBC called a "visionary of the environment," will be speaking at Colorado College about "The Future of Water." This author/professor/scientist has researched water resources as they relate to climate change, invented strategies for effective water use, and spoken out about the need for local water movements — among innumerable other climate- and water-related issues. The future of water is literally our future, so you may want to take notes. The lecture will also stream live online at coloradocollege.edu/live. 7 p.m., Colorado College's Cornerstone Arts Center, 825 N. Cascade Ave., free, coloradocollege.edu, 227-8145. — Alissa Smith
