The Curious Palate Tasting Class

In December I attended my first Curious Palate Tasting Class at Soireé (1003 S. Tejon St.), and I'm still fascinated by one tip I picked up: When tasting wine, open your mouth slightly during sniffing to get a full sense of the aromas. I don't know if the same holds for tasting rum, but I'm sure we'll find out at 5:30 tonight at the first of 2013's semi-monthly events. Your $25 fee includes the rums, paired appetizers, and as much information as Soireé owner Michaela Hightower can share about this particular spirit in 90 minutes.
