The Curious Carnival

When: June 3-30 2016

Local artists and Chavez Gallery proprietors Liese and Kris Chavez have made whimsy a part of what they do, year-round. This Friday's opening will be no less whimsical. Word is that their new show, The Curious Carnival, will be their biggest opening of the year. There will be new circuis- and carnival-themed art from both artists, yes, but there will also be handmade games set up in tents outside. Expect also magic (performed by Liese Chavez herself), fortune-telling, live music from clown/accordionist Chris Mandile and popcorn galore. Show up dressed in circuis- or carnival-related garb, you get a prize. Step right up — everyone is a winner! 5 to 9 p.m., 2616 W. Colorado Ave., #10, free, — Griffin Swartzell
