- Lemon Cake is both lemony and cheesy — it’s also called Lemon Cheese Cake.
On the other hand, it you start smoking a Sativa like Lemon Cake before you start drinking, and make occasional trips to the patio for a toke, it can keep you rocking for a long day and night during a holiday weekend some place you like.
That’s just a public service announcement, because I’ve heard a few too many people hitting vape pens outside of bars extolling the stimulant virtues of weed. But all of that being said, Lemon Cake is one of the most stimulating Sativas I’ve recently tried.
It’s the Lemon Skunk in its DNA, full of lemon and citrus terpenes, that gives this strain its boost. Its other putative parent, the pungent, Indica-heavy Cheese, gives it a wavy, relaxed sub-strata that grounds the energetic pulse of racing thoughts.
The sharp boost of the Lemon Skunk and slow burn of the Cheese is a good combo, and not only when it comes to the high. It is both lemony and cheesy — it’s also called Lemon Cheese Cake, the Cake part really being irrelevant and part of the trend of cake-named weeds bopping around lately — in the nose and it tastes smooth and easy on the throat.
If you’re not drinking with it, the crossing waves of the different strains do create something of an introverted buzz, lending itself to silence. But not that awkward, anxious silence where you feel like you should be talking but are incapable of it. Instead it’s the contemplative, productive silence of doing.
But with a couple beers, this strain proves Willie Nelson’s assessment that the combination of weed and beer is the best truth serum on earth.
