Springs Spree: A City in Celebration

When: Sat., Aug. 13, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 14, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. 2016

There are a handful of annual events that need no introduction: Territory Days, Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, the Hill Climb and, of course, Springs Spree. Celebrating everything that makes this city the place we love to call home, Springs Spree is "returning to it roots as a true LOCAL festival" for its 39th edition. Now, I can only say "local" so many times in this space, so just know it applies to the 60-plus artists who will be holding down two stages, as well as the arts, crafts, food and beer available through the weekend. The kids are probably in for more fun than you inside the interactive Kids Spree area, but standup paddleboarding, sports demos and a skateboarding expo should keep you busy enough. 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Memorial Park, 1605 E Pikes Peak Ave., free to attend, springsspree.org. — Craig Lemley
