"Spring Cleanup for the Xeriscape"

When: Sat., March 5, 9-10 a.m. and Wed., March 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m. 2016

In Colorado we'll always be thinking about water, between agriculture and environment concerns, recent red flag warning days for wildfires, and of course, conservation. Colorado Springs Utilities cares a lot about that latter category in particular, offering an abundance of presentations annually for the community on how to help use the resource wisely. Tonight's lecture at CSU's Conservation and Environmental Center, "Spring Cleanup for the Xeriscape," will focus on drought-tolerant perennials, ground covers and grasses, and shrub pruning. If you're a newbie homeowner you'll quickly find out there's much more to savvy landscaping than mulch. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., 2855 Mesa Road, free, csu.org. — Matthew Schniper
