Songs My Brothers Taught Me

When: Sat., June 20, 7-9 p.m. 2015

Songs My Brothers Taught Me was filmed on the Great Plains and Badlands of South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation over the course of four years. It was shot sans script, with scenes written daily for first-time actors. If a real-life event, such as a house fire, occurred, the crew improvised, building around themes of home and family bonds in a harsh landscape. See the film, produced by Forest Whitaker, at 7 tonight in CC's Armstrong Hall (14 E. Cache La Poudre St., onff.org), with $10 tickets benefiting local nonprofit One Nation Walking Together. A Q&A with the filmmaker follows the screening, then a $10 reception at 9 p.m. — Matthew Schniper

Price: $10
