Songs for a New World

New Yorker Jason Robert Brown is best known as the composer for the Broadway musicals Parade and The Bridges of Madison County, for which he won Tony Awards for Best Original Score in 1999 and 2014, respectively. But tonight is opening night for a performance of his first musical, Songs for a New World. It's an abstract piece that focuses on life-changing decisions. Staged at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater, this performance will feature the talent of the Colorado Springs Conservatory, bringing together students, alumni, mentors and a few guest artists for a rockin' adaptation.
