Sixty Seconds

with Annie Hardy of Giant Drag

Indy: How is touring with The Like?

AH: It's been going good. It's fun to be on tour with a bunch of girls and be a girl. Micah [Calabrese] hangs out with all the tour managers and tech guys and they drink beer while the girls have a slumber party. It's kind of like after a high school dance.

Indy: You're playing Coachella in 2006. How are you feeling about that?

AH: I don't know. I never liked going to it. I hope playing it isn't as bad as going to it. I'm not a big fan of festivals because there's so much going on at once and it's so hot. I can't handle it.

Indy: The UK's New Musical Express (NME) says you're one of 2005's 50 coolest people in rock & roll.

AH: I'm number 50 of 50. I haven't seen the magazine, so I haven't actually gotten to see who's cooler than me -- I'm interested in knowing. It's kind of silly.

Indy: I hear Giant Drag do a pretty awesome cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game."

AH: We've been doing that one for a long time. We play it at all of our shows, and people seem to like it. It started as an idea I had one day before Giant Drag began. I played it and it felt like it was something I could've written. When we play it, I sometimes forget it's not my own.
