La Casita on the move
La Casita's 3504 N. Academy Blvd. location recently closed due to its lease expiring. Administrative assistant Brenda Laabs says the company is "actively seeking a new site that would be convenient for our guests and also beneficial to our company." An opening timeframe for the new location will depend on how soon a site is selected. La Casita aficionados still can visit the company's three other locations at 306 S. Eighth St., 4295 N. Nevada Ave., and 3725 E. Woodmen Road in the interim. Call 578-1730 for more.

Head to The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (3202 Chambers Way) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, for Puttin' Food By, a traditional hog-processing event.
