Romance By Moonlight

Chamber Orchestra of the Springs wisely predicted that in deepest November we would be cursing the cold, with a junkie's craving for heat in all its forms. Romance by Moonlight with mezzo-soprano Jennifer DeDominici — shifts the season with steamy love and summer nights, presenting "Les nuits d'été" and "Love Scene from Romeo & Juliet" by Berlioz, and more warming selections by Mendelssohn and Haydn. Today's 2:30 p.m. concert at First Christian Church (16 East Platte Ave., mirrors Saturday evening's performance (Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Ave.). Tickets are $20, with discounts for students and seniors. Come early to either performance and hear CC professor and composer Tania Cronin's pre-concert lecture. — Mary Jo Meade
