Reader: Not paying a fair share to live in a civilized society comes with a cost

So, how have all of those wishes to the "libertarian fairy" worked out for you folks ("Drained," News, Sept. 5)? Maybe Doug Bruce of TABOR infamy has an extra billion lying around to help bail you out? I hope the few years when there has actually been a budget surplus and money was refunded to taxpayers (I remember getting one refund, $37, maybe enough for a good dinner with tip), was worth it. This obsession of not paying a fair share to live in a civilized society, and the belief that Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public have a better idea of what government spending priorities should be, rather than people who spend whole careers on these types of issues, deserve whatever fines the court imposes.
