In my humble opinion, with Vladimir Putin visiting the White House this fall, this would be a great opportunity for Congressman Doug Lamborn to invite Putin to visit Colorado Springs. Perhaps Mr. Lamborn could arrange for the second summit to take place in El Paso County.
The Europeans have had their Helsinki Summit, and we Americans would have our Colorado Springs Summit. Think of all the economic benefits that our business community would reap if the summit were held at The Broadmoor.
It would be a win-win for everyone. Putin could visit our military bases to see how his cyber warfare against NATO is progressing. And if the summit is held before Halloween, Trump could judge who has the best costume of him. Imagine the billions of dollars which will trickle down to the huddled masses of Colorado.
A Colorado Springs Summit would let Mr. Lamborn reassure his voters in their belief that loyalty to Donald Trump is more important than defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I wonder if our congressman might not be the next Speaker of House? Wouldn't that be a blessing from above.
