I have three questions for each candidate for city council and the mayor:

1) Do you believe that climate change is real? (If no, stop here!)

2) Do you believe that humans are contributing substantially to climate change? (If no, stop here!)

3) Assuming you answered yes to 1 and 2, are you willing to support the creation and implementation of an ambitious plan to combat climate change in Colorado Springs?

The people need to know that our elected officials understand science, the urgency of climate change and that they have the courage to implement plans to mitigate it.

PlanCOS touts our majestic environment and relies on outdoor recreation and athletics to add to the vitality of this city. How long to you think these businesses will be viable if our air and water are polluted? How long do you think The Broadmoor will keep the U.S. Senior Open if all the players and guests have to wear masks or they can't play because of dangerous air quality? If nothing else, it makes good business sense to combat climate change.
