Reader: Aren't nuclear weapons arms?

Don McCullen is a patriot who believes the Second Amendment is absolute ("Don't follow the Aussies," Letters, Nov. 8).

The second half of the Second Amendment states that "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed."

Well, a nuclear weapon qualifies as arms.

I challenge Mr. McCullen (and any other 2A absolutist) to exercise his or her Second Amendment right and acquire a nuclear weapon. And if the government tries to stop you, you can tell them that the Second Amendment affords you the right to own a nuclear weapon.

I can't wait to see what happens.
