I live in one of the forgotten areas of Colorado Springs just west of The Citadel mall. Our neighborhood has actually been given the cute little nickname "the bowl" due to the significant flooding we experience during storms. While the storms have raged, I've asked for help from the city many times, receiving limited to no attention. I've even asked for help from my City Council representative, Jill Gaebler, to no avail. I recently inquired again, thinking that since we're paying monthly for stormwater improvements we could perhaps get a piece of the action. This has been extremely frustrating and it's no surprise we're being sued by the EPA; the recent Indy article fueled my frustration. The taxpayers will get stuck again; the developers have been allowed to ignore their responsibilities, contributing to our problem. I don't mind paying for services if they'll directly benefit my area and not just the more exclusive areas of town, including Gaebler's neighborhood.
