We're not usually ones to talk about the weather, but these days there's almost no way around it.

Melanie Davis

Melanie Davis of the west side works in school food service.

What are your thoughts on our recent weather? I love it! It's amazing. We need the rain and I love storms. I'm from Kansas, so I'm always watching the weather.

Since you're from Kansas, are you glad we don't often have tornadoes here? No, I miss them. They're awe-inspiring, and fascinating to me. I'd love to take a storm-chasing vacation.

What's the craziest weather you've ever experienced? It would have to be in Kansas. We were camping by a lake and tornadic winds flattened our tent. At the same time, there was a blizzard that closed the interstate.

What's your favorite rainy-day activity? Curling up with my blankie on the couch with a view of Pikes Peak in the background, watching old movies. If it's a storm, I take pictures.

Taviri Murphy

Taviri Murphy of Pueblo works in a power plant.

What are your thoughts on the weather lately? Kind of awesome, kind of weird. We need the moisture, but lately it seems more extreme than usual.

Has the recent weather affected your life? Not where I live, but at my job I'm affected. Everything is muddy and it slows us down.

What's the best or worst weather you've ever experienced? The worst was in Seattle; it rained for 10 straight days and nights. Constant rain, and I thought it was depressing.

Can you think of any good weather-related songs? "Snow Day" by Bleu. It's on an album of kids' songs done by modern bands.

What's your favorite rainy-day activity? Movies, hot chocolate and popcorn.

Greg Drees

Greg Drees of the east side is a marketeer at the flea market.

What are your thoughts on the weather lately? I think I like warmer weather better. I froze my ass off yesterday in the sleet, tearing down a retaining wall. But we did it; we moved the mountain.

Do you think weather affects people's moods? Without a doubt. I love the seasons. I even love the snow unless I get too cold.

What's the best or worst weather you've ever experienced? The best was in Monterey, California. The worst was when I worked in the Gulf of Mexico and we had to move oil rigs in hurricanes.

Can you think of any good weather-related songs? "Who'll Stop the Rain" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

What's your favorite rainy-day activity? If it's warm, walking in it; if it's cold, go to the coffee shop.
