Pride and Prejudice

When: Nov. 4-14, 6:30-10 p.m. 2009

Though the beloved brain-munchers are some of my favorite monstrosities, I have to admit that with Halloween's afterglow fading, I've had my fill of zombies. They've been in theaters, at parties, even in my favorite classic novels — for instance, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a mash-up of Jane Austen's classic tale of romance in Regency society and the walking dead. So if you, too, want to celebrate the end of zombie season, take in tonight's 6:30 performance of Pride and Prejudice (sans ghouls), a three-hour musical play based on the Austen novel, written and directed by local Karen Hamer. You can catch it tonight, and almost every night from Nov. 5 through Nov. 14, at Forestgate Presbyterian Church (970 North Gate Blvd., prideandprejudice2009.net). Tickets are $10. — Jill Thomas
