When Wes The Power Trio boards the stage, it does so with a simple mission statement.

"What we want to do is help people have fun," says guitarist and vocalist V.C., who is emphatic about not revealing his real name. "We're serious about our music, and we're serious about having fun with it."

Since forming in 1990, The Power Trio has traveled throughout the United States, Europe and Asia playing a distinct brand of the Louisiana blues.

"We just want that feeling of everyone being comfortable," V.C. says.

Unlike Europeans, who tend to be more open to original tunes, American audiences usually have to be wooed with covers, V.C. says. Still, in order to keep themselves on an even keel with their audiences, Wes The Power Trio refuses to go on stage with a hardened set list.

"That stuff is just ridiculous," V.C. says, "We don't come to a show with an intent to just play the material. We come to have fun to really interact.

"We change with the crowd," he adds. "Just playing the material is like breathing."
