These Arms Are Snakes
Navajo Hogan, 2817 N. Nevada Ave.
Saturday, March 12, 7:30 p.m.
$8, all ages
It's time to kick out the jams -- These Arms Are Snakes are coming to the Navajo Hogan to rock the collective socks off of Colorado Springs denizens. To further your listening pleasure, they will be accompanied by Big Business (ex-Murder City Devils), The Great Redneck Hope, Idiot Pilot and They Murdered Miracles.
The Seattle-based quintet are part of the whole newly coined movement of "art thrash," which means they look emo but kick and scream like big rock 'n' roll babies. The members gathered from respected ex-bands like Botch and the fondly remembered Minneapolis punk group Kill Sadie.
When These Arms' first full-length CD appeared in 2004, Oxeneers Or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home (Jade Tree), they quickly became media darlings, with Rolling Stone and Spin salivating over them. Believe the hype -- it's great, aggressive music featuring twisting, relentless guitar hooks and a singer with a snarl in his smile.
