Hydra, Kris Harlow and Revivalists
l Lolas Joint, 333 N. Tejon
Friday, April 23, at 8 p.m.
Lola's Joint, formerly H.W. Briggs, has once again become an active venue for live music in Colorado Springs. Owner Darlene Scott has joined promoters Brett Bullard and his wife, Shannon Siegel, and opened her place up again to shows. "I'm trying to bring in as much diversity as possible and give the hip-hop crews and punk rockers a place to play in this town," said Bullard, who used to run the Punk House and The Project (two underground venues) with Siegel and his friend, Chris Mandile. "We're trying to get as many local bands as possible and fill in with touring bands," said Bullard. This Friday, they'll host local hip-hop artists Hydra, Kris Harlow and Revivalists. Magic Dave is also booking blues bands about twice a month, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for future events.
