Drink yer face off, dance yer ass off, get yer rocks off." It's a rare occurrence these days, when you can go to a show and actually do all three. Good guiding principles if you ask me -- and they belong to a band called The Confessions. What more could you ask for from a band? But then, The Confessions are truly a rare breed: a blues rockin', gospel singin', trash-punk local band that embodies the spirit of glam-rock past. Think: The Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, Guns and Roses, NY Dolls and Nirvana rolled into one sexed-up, revved-up hard-core-playing band.
If bands could actually get together with other bands and produce offspring, The Confessions would be the result of a tryst between Aerosmith and Blondie. Sounds strange, but it's just one of those things you have to see and hear to understand. Be assured -- there will be plenty of tight pants and glitter on stage.
In their first hometown gig in nine months, Loose Cannon, Fixx Fatale, Ashe Tre and Heather "My Michelle" Howk will take the stage again with the style, grace and attitude of the rock stars they are destined to be. It's an all-ages show, so come one, come all, to Industrial Nation on Friday night. The crowd promises to be as good as the band. And the band promises to be hot, hard, gritty and oh-so-good.
