Dar Williams seems to be something like the Boomer equivalent of a high-profile indie rocker. While keeping a much lower profile than, say, Sarah McLachlan, she's easily as accessible, and certainly more poetic and talented. She speaks plainly and well of aging gracefully, and does it smoothly enough for anyone of the smooth hits crowd to digest without excessive murmurings of "what-the-hell-is-that?" On this tour, Williams is promoting her new CD, The Beauty of the Rain, released recently on Razor and Tie Records. It seems that whatever powers may be have seen fit to bestow Williams with a special critical acclaim magnet. The acclaimed chanteuse will be at 32 Bleu on Saturday. John Eddie will open. Tickets are $25, and the show is 18 and up.
