Acoustic guitarist Beppe Gambetta and virtuoso mandolinist Carlo Aonzo are, above all else, students. The duo originally formed to research the rich musical scene of early 20th-century Genoa, Italy. Their greatest discovery in the course of their studies was a body of work left behind by two of the era's greatest musical talents: Pasquale Taraffo and Nino Catania, renowned for their seamless blend of everything from tangos to classical folk. By integrating period costumes and narrative with the works of Taraffo and Catania, Gambetta and Aonzo offer a unique performance that gives the music of the last century the vitality of today. Tickets are $15 to $20. Call 578-0254.
