The registered nursing program at Pikes Peak Community College was ranked No. 1 in Colorado by the Annual RegisteredNursing.org RN Program State Rankings. Two other community colleges also placed in the top 10: Front Range Community College (Larimer County), second; and Arapahoe County Community College, fifth. The Beth-El College of Nursing & Health Sciences at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs ranked ninth.
The rankings are based on current and historical NCLEX-RN "pass rates" — the percentage of graduates who pass the exam. There are 28 programs in the state.
House Bill 1086, which is under consideration, would allow community colleges to bestow bachelor of nursing degrees.
