Peak Herb Fest

When: Sat., May 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 2016

Ever since the passage of Amendment 64, newcomers have probably experienced some confusion around Pikes Peak Herb Fest. The type of plant-starts available here are more of the perennial variety for cooking herbs and feng shui gardens, not marijuana. Now in its 14th year, PPHF will host upwards of 50 exhibitors, including food vendors, and the free chai alone makes it worth the few dollar entry fee. Today at AspenPointe Café (in the El Paso County Citizens Service Center) learn about everything from permaculture, herbalism and homesteading to tiny homes, solar energy, essential oils and eco-friendly fashion. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road, $3 ($1/seniors and students; free 12 and under), peakherbfest.com. — Matthew Schniper
