Paradise lost

Where'd summer go? It gets dark noticeably earlier, classes in all the school districts have either started or are about to, Labor Day is only a few weeks away. All seasons have their charm, but summers in Colorado verge on paradise.

Going - to the Body Worlds museum exhibit in Denver. -  - Is there something you want to do between now and - Labor Day? Get back to work. I recently had rotator - cuff surgery. -  - Given unlimited means and opportunity, what would - your vacation be? Travel in England. I have relatives - there. My roots go back there. -  - Did you garden this summer? A flower garden. -  - How did it do, compared to last year? Not as - good, but all the recent rain helped.

    How did it do, compared to last year? Not as good, but all the recent rain helped.

The - heat, and it's getting worse every year. -  - If money were no object, how would you vacation? - Buy a fjord in both the Alaskan panhandle and in - New Zealand, and sail back and forth on my yacht to - backpack and trout-fish. -  - Did you garden? Yup. -  - How did it fare?  Extremely well, thanks to all - the rain  tomatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, dill, peas, - squash, carrots, corn.

    What's the worst thing about summer? The heat, and it's getting worse every year.

    If money were no object, how would you vacation? Buy a fjord in both the Alaskan panhandle and in New Zealand, and sail back and forth on my yacht to backpack and trout-fish.

    Did you garden? Yup.

    How did it fare? Extremely well, thanks to all the rain tomatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, dill, peas, squash, carrots, corn.

I kept it - watered at the beginning of summer.

    How did this year's effort fare? Good. I kept it watered at the beginning of summer.

Going on - charity bike rides. -  - What's best about summer? Our warm days but - cool nights. And the thunderstorms are fantastic. -  - What's worst? Absolutely nothing, except it - ends too quickly. -  - What would your dream vacation be? A bicycle - tour of France. -  - Did you garden this summer? Yes. Mostly - herbs, but a little zucchini, lettuce and some flowers. -  - How did it fare? Great, except for the lettuce, - which I probably got in too late.

    How did it fare? Great, except for the lettuce, which I probably got in too late.
