UPDATE: We heard back from the JT, event coordinator for the Hemp Cafe. The cafe has re-opened. Studio A64, which is upstairs at 322 E. Colorado Ave., is still open as a bring-your-own-cannabis consumption club.

Late last month, Indy contributor Dionne Roberts introduced readers to the Original Hemp Cafe — a first-of-its-kind eatery below Studio A64 that offers CBD-infused items like coffee, pastries and sandwiches. It seemed like a creative way to both keep people coming through the door now that the cannabis club's license prevents them from supplying that titular product to members and to offer Springs foodies a unique, healthy and forward-looking breakfast/lunch option.

One such foodie, Indy editor and food critic Matthew Schniper, was intrigued enough to make not one but two attempts to try the place out. But, to no avail. As you can see in the photo below, the cafe is temporarily closed.

We called every number we have for the owners and left some inquiring voicemails. We'll let you know when we hear back about what's going on and when you can go try some CBD-infused items.
