Officer Duzel moved to renowned rehab facility for treatment

Colorado Springs Police Officer Cem Duzel, shot in the head by a suspect on Aug. 2, was moved from UCHealth Memorial Central to a rehab hospital in the Denver area on Aug. 28, KKTV reported.

A police motorcade escorted the transfer of Duzel, 30, a five-year veteran of the force, who was honored with a lineup of officers at Memorial before his departure. According to media reports, Duzel will be treated at Craig Hospital, a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that conducts neuro-rehabilitation and research with patients suffering from spinal cord and brain injuries.

Karrar Noaman Al Khammasi, 31, was arrested in the shooting and is being held without bond.
