- Jared Polis landed Obama's endorsement for governor.
Former President Barack Obama's lengthy list of campaign endorsements released Aug. 1 included several Colorado Democrats: Jared Polis for governor, Dianne Primavera for lieutenant governor, Phil Weiser for attorney general, and Jena Griswold for secretary of state. Obama also endorsed nine Democratic candidates for state House and Senate.
"Jared has always been an indispensable leader for Colorado," Obama is quoted in a statement from Polis' campaign.
Almost all Colorado Democrats are out-fundraising their Republican opponents. Polis has raised a total of more than $13.1 million — mostly thanks to his personal investment of $12.9 million — leaving Walker Stapleton in the dust with $2.6 million.
However, Republicans' Senate Majority Fund and Values First Colorado PACs have garnered just over $3 million combined, while Democrats' Coloradans for Fairness and Our Colorado Values PACs have about $2.2 million.
