Native American Festival

When: Sat., June 5, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 2010

What do birds of prey, art, food, drums and storytellers have in common? They're all integral parts of Native American culture, and all will be celebrated in full force during the Tri-Lakes Native American Inter-Tribal Festival and Concert. Starting at 10 this morning at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts (304 Hwy. 105, Palmer Lake, arvelbird.com), you can spend the day learning about the history and various aspects of Native American culture with storytellers, dancers, musicians, craftspeople and HawkQuest (which exhibits birds of prey) until 6. Topping off the night is the multitalented flutist Arvel Bird, at 7:30. The festival is free; the concert is $15. — Sarah White
