Musical Instrument-Making Class

When: Mon., Aug. 9, 4-7 p.m. and Tue., Aug. 10, 4-7 p.m. 2010

At some point in our lives, most of us have used a pot as a drum or made a kazoo out of a comb and wax paper. From 4 to 7 today, you can amp up those skills and make tambourines, shakers, percussion tools and cigar box guitars from everyday items. The Business of Art Center (513 Manitou Ave., Manitou Springs, thebac.org) will host a free musical instrument-making class sponsored by local community/public art advocates Concrete Couch. Though all ages are welcome to attend, kids under 14 need adult supervision. RSVP to music@concretecouch.org required. — Lea Shores
