Our main offering of the first half- Quintet for Winds in E Flat, Op. 88, No. 2 by Anton Reicha, Beethoven's good friend, “3 Short Pieces” by Jacques Ibert- charming, utterly delightful. The Schumann Piano Quintet is one of the greatest chamber compositions of the Romantic period. In our 2nd-half, you will hear the Schumann in a once-only, very rarely performed arrangement by Robert G. Patterson, scoring the work as the Schumann Sextet for woodwind quintet.
