When: Fridays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Continues through March 31 2013

Imagine Maria from West Side Story living in the New York from Inception, during a war straight out of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series, then setting out on a The Warriors-like adventure to find her friend. I wish I could claim this as a creation from some dark recess of my otherwise unimaginative mind, but these are elements of Marisol, a play by Puerto Rican playwright José Rivera. He earned the Off-Broadway Award for the work in 1993, and tonight it'll be performed at THEATREdART (128 N. Nevada Ave.,, beginning at 8. It's $10 general admission, $5 for students. — Miguel Bustamante
