"We live in great peace. / We lead angelic lives, / yet have a merry time of it besides." So goes The Heavenly Life, a poem from an old German book of songs, and the basis for composer Mahler's fourth symphony, which the Colorado Springs Philharmonic performs today at 2:30 (and Saturday night at 8). Under the direction of Joseph Caballé-Domenech, and with soprano Jessica Rivera, the symphony will lead the way toward das himmlische Leben at the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave.,, tickets start at $19). — Edie Adelstein
