Lysistrata

When: Aug. 13-29 2015

Across every culture and every generation, since the dawn of history, one thing has endured: the dick joke. Sure, Aristophanes' Lysistrata is a tale of the women of Greece trying to end the Peloponnesian War, but the women do it by withholding sex from their husbands, keeping things light — and lewd. This is the last week that the Funky Little Theater Company (2109 Templeton Gap Road, funkylittletheater.org) will be performing Lysistrata, with shows at 7 tonight through Saturday. Tickets are $15. Leave the kids at home; this play has more unreleased sexual tension than the San Diego Comic-Con. — Griffin Swartzell
